The Olives Group is a mission-aligned social enterprise established to support the charitable activities of Mount of Olives Rescue and Recovery Ministry. While affiliated by mission and oversight, each entity operates in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including nonprofit governance, tax, and labor regulations.

Revenue generated through The Olives Group is used to support charitable programs but does not confer ownership, profit-sharing, or private benefit to any individual participant.

2. Voluntary Participation Disclaimer (Critical)

 

Participation in any work, vocational training, or employment opportunity through The Olives Group is strictly voluntary.

  • Participation is not a condition of admission, continued residence, treatment completion, or access to services.

  • Clients may decline or discontinue participation at any time without penalty or retaliation.

  • Declining participation does not affect access to housing, clinical care, spiritual counseling, or program standing.

This policy is enforced to ensure compliance with labor laws, patient rights protections, and ethical recovery standards.

3. Labor & Compensation Compliance Disclaimer

 

All work performed through The Olives Group complies with applicable federal and Connecticut labor laws, including but not limited to:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

  • Connecticut wage and hour statutes

  • Workers’ compensation requirements

  • Occupational safety standards

Participants are:

  • Classified appropriately (employee, trainee, or volunteer, as applicable)

  • Compensated in accordance with law when wages are required

  • Provided with safe working conditions and supervision

No unpaid labor is required in exchange for treatment, housing, or services.

Services provided by Mount of Olives Rescue and Recovery Ministry are not contingent upon:

Similarly, use of services offered through The Olives Group does not guarantee program admission, preferential treatment, or any recovery-related benefit for any individual.

5. Clinical & Billing Separation Disclaimer

 

Clinical treatment, medical services, and counseling provided by Mount of Olives Rescue and Recovery Ministry are:

  • Delivered independently of The Olives Group operations

  • Governed by licensed professionals where required

  • Billed separately in compliance with applicable regulations

No clinical decisions are influenced by employment participation, and no employment activity is billed as treatment.
